$5 Million Verdict Upheld In Appeals Court

Our trial verdict obtained for an orthopedic surgeon was upheld by a New York appeals court.  The judges on the panel agreed with the jury that our client was totally disabled, despite the fact that he earned $900,000 in his first year of disability, working in his office as a non-surgical orthopedist.  Unum was ordered to pay nearly $3 Million in past due benefits, with interest, and will be paying our client approximately $2 Million in future benefits.
